Divine Intervention Part 2

  • April 20, 2016
  • REV BELOVED UDEZE

Things that Provoke Divine Intervention

1.Prayer.
What is prayer? Prayer is our direct line with heaven. Prayer is a communication process that allows us to talk to God! He wants us to communicate with Him, like a person-to-person phone call. Not all prayers get to heaven some gets into voice mail or gets diverted. Before I speak on prayers that can provoke divine intervention let’s examine six reasons that makes prayers to enter into voice mail.

  • Sin. Success in nothing.  Psalm 66:18. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.
  • Selfishness. James 4:3. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
  • Disobedient. Proverb 28:9. He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
  • Doubt. James 1:6-7.  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.   For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.   7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
  • Pride.
Luke 18: 11-14. .
  • Cry of the Poor. Proverb 21:13. Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
Those who shut their ears to the cries of the poor . (NLT).
Prayers that can provokes Divine Intervention.
  • Earnest Prayer. To be earnest it means you are serious about something. James 5:17-18. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain:  and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.   18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit
  • Effectual Prayer. Effectual means to be able to produce a desired effect. James 5:16 Confess faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.   The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
  • Prayer of Agreement. Acts 12:1-11, Matthew 18:19. Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
What our prayer must consist of.
  • Confession Ps. 6:18
  • Thanksgiving Ps.100:4, 1st Thessalonian 5:18. The ungrateful is a great fool
  • Adoration/Worship Ps. 100:2
  • Intercession.
  • Request
2. Quality Praise.
Praise to God is what we offer in acknowledgement of God’s excellent being. You might think that praise is the same as saying “thank you,” but there is a difference. Thanksgiving describes our attitude toward what God has done, while praise is offered for who God is.
Psalm 18:3 says “I call to the LORD, who is worthy, of praise…”
Effect of praise.
  • Each time praise goes up blessing comes down.
Psalm 67:5-6 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.   shall the earth yield her increase;  God, our own God, shall bless us.   God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him
  • Praise provokes the presence of God.
Psalm 22:3 But thou holy, that inhabitest the praises of Israel
God’s presence now produces presents
  • When praise goes up God is glorified.
Psalm 50:23. Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me:  and to him that ordereth conversation will I show the salvation of God.
No man gives to God what he deserve and he put him to shame.
  • When praise goes up your enemies are in trouble. 2nd Chronicles 20:20-25.
Praise affects you, it affects the devil, and it affects God.
3. Prayer and Praise.
Act 16:25-26. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God:  and the prisoners heard them.   26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken:  and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
4.  Mercy.
Grace brings the blessing you don’t deserve while Mercy cancels the punishment you deserve.
Mark 10:46-52. Blind Bartimaeus
Luke 17:12-19. Ten men that were lepers.
Matthew 15:21-28. Woman of Canaan.
Luke 18:10-14. The publican
Matthew 5:7. The Merciful
5) The name of Jesus. The master key.
Philippians 2:9 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
 John 14:13-14. ,Acts 3:6.
